Fungal-based Pigments
MyChS is a trademark aimed at protecting the use of fungal pigments produced through an innovative process developed in BGT laboratories and patented.
We use filamentous fungi because they are characterized by rapid growth, the possibility of being grown using by-products, as well as the possibility of synthesizing pigment molecules with a broad color spectrum and excellent stability. These pigments can be used for coloring in a variety of sectors.

Projects & Partnership
Academic Project
Screening of six fungal strains for the production of fungal pigments. Optimization of pigment concentrations through the DoE methodology. Evaluation of pigments cytotoxicity through intestinal epithelium model assays.
Industrial Partners
We are evaluating with various industrial partners the possible application of the fungal pigments produced. In particular, in the textile sector, where we will soon be setting up a semi-industrial pilot plant.
